Cooper Sallade

Owner and founder of Aqua Fauna Ponds Inc., Cooper has been captivated by nature from his earliest memories.

Growing up, he spent countless hours exploring the outdoors and developing a deep appreciation for wildlife, particularly reptiles and amphibians. His passion led him to become a renowned herpetologist, specializing in the study of venomous snakes.

With over a decade of hands-on experience in the field, Cooper's knowledge of natural ecosystems is both extensive and profound.

Inspiration

One of Cooper's greatest sources of inspiration is the James River, where he has spent much of his life kayaking, studying the rich biodiversity, and exploring its hidden corners.

This fascination with the river and its surroundings fostered a deep connection to aquatic environments, eventually steering Cooper's professional interests toward koi ponds and aquatic landscaping.

Combining his passion for animals, plants, and water, Cooper founded Aqua Fauna Ponds to create serene, balanced pond ecosystems that harmonize with nature.

Aqua Fauna Ponds

At Aqua Fauna Ponds, we integrate native and tropical plants, advanced filtration systems, and expert pond construction techniques to design ponds that not only look beautiful but also support thriving, self-sustaining ecosystems.

Our holistic approach ensures that each pond is tailored to the specific needs of the space and its inhabitants, with a strong emphasis on creating environments that are healthy for both the aquatic life and the surrounding landscape.

A Lifestyle

When he's not building or managing ponds for his clients, Cooper continues to immerse himself in the environment that inspires him. He can often be found kayaking along the James River, searching for fossils in Virginia's swamps, or tending to his own koi pond at home with his wife and dog.

His personal and professional life are a reflection of his unwavering commitment to the natural world, and his goal at Aqua Fauna Ponds is to bring that same love of nature into each outdoor space he cultivates.
